WD Double Bowl Sink - Number 3 Sink
One of the five most popular sinks on sinks.co.uk is the WD Double Bowl Sink, based on traditional French farmhouse sinks and designed specifically for the UK market. It is slightly smaller than the Normandy French farmhouse sink, measuring 900 x 450 x 200mm, but benefits from having 90mm wastes in both bowls instead of 60mm, which is the standard size on this type of classic fireclay farmhouse sink. small stainless steel sink The finishes that the 90mm basket strainer wastes are available in are English bronze, non-tarnish brass or Satin chrome. This type of French farmhouse sink with a larger waste means that it can take a waste disposal unit, making it only ceramic sink of its kind that is suited to that feature. A monobloc mixer tap can be fitted to this vintage sink simply by drilling at the back of the sink between the bowls, although it cannot fit a two or three hole tap. You have the option of installing a tap into the worktop behind the double bowl sink, and thanks to its size, it will fit into the the standard 600mm deep workspace.
Made from high quality fireclay ceramic rather than the standard ball clay, the WD Double Bowl Sink is of a finer material than many of its competitors in the market. Being a very durable material, fireclay will last a lifetime with the proper care.
Whether you have a traditional wooden kitchen or a modern kitchen with a sleek urban design, traditional French farmhouse sinks suit all kitchen schemes, going with all types of colours and finishes. Following the advent of the Belfast and Butler sinks in the late 1800s, French farmhouse sinks offered an alternative to those designs. Starting a fireclay sink factory in northern France, two brothers, Emile and Andre Porcher used local fireclay to make their superior ceramic sinks. The clay they used was of superior quality and more refined than the crude red Staffordshire clay used at Potteries. Thus, the Porcher brothers manufactured the highest quality sinks using the superior fireclay. Standing the test of time, some of their original designs are still produced today owing to the high quality materials and soundness of design. Still one of the oldest and most respected names in ceramic sinks, Porcher sinks are still made to this day in the Loire region in France.
Keep your fireclay sink lasting a lifetime by following a few simple cleaning guidelines. Clean it daily with a non-abrasive cleaner like washing up liquid, which will help to prevent coffee and wine stains from building up on the surface of the ceramic. When this doesn't work for tougher stains, use a manufacturer-recommended cleaning product like Astonish, designed just for this type of fireclay ceramic sink and available for purchase at sinks.co.uk. As any accumulated dirt can scratch the ceramic glaze at the bottom of the sink, never set a plastic washing bowl inside. sink taps
The measurements of the WD Double Bowl Sink are 900x450x200mm.
Retro toaster dock is hot for your iPhone (Albuquerque Journal)
Your iPhone is ready to jam.

Take a long look at your iPhone. What does it remind you of? If you said,
"breakfast," then I have the perfect dock for you.
What happens if you pull this handle down? (Click to enlarge.)

The Gavio Toast iPhone dock and speaker system looks like a 1950s toaster all
covered in chrome with rounded retro lines.
The details are sketchy, but it looks like the speakers hide behind the front
slots. The iPhone sits right on top like it just popped up.
There is an adjustable volume control and a mysterious handle on the side that
looks like it should trigger the dock to suck your iPhone inside.
Toast isn't the first kitchen appliance-inspired iPhone dock. We saw the Day
Maker toaster-style dock concept earlier this year.
Daring customers may want to set the Toast up in the kitchen next to the real
toaster.
Just be careful when you're groggily making breakfast. You don't want to
accidentally dock your toast or toast your iPhone.[Read more]
