Preparing For A Dinner Party
If you have never had a dinner party at your home before, you may be unsure how to do it. There are many components to a dinner party - they are not as easy as they seem. Because of this, preparations tend to seem to get 'down to the wire.' These tips may help to organize your thoughts for planning a dinner party.
One important aspect of a dinner party is to have your home prepared. Home decor accents can add a nice element to a dinner party. You may decide to decorate according to the season or occasion. Dark-colored decorations are also a good idea, as they go with the more mellow atmosphere of dinner parties.
Candles and candle holders, floral centerpieces, and place settings can be good for a dinner party. Table cloths are not usually needed as long as the tables are pretty and the dinner ware is fancy enough. Candles with dark blue, black, dark green, or maroon holders can help to set the mood.
Women may choose to wear a tasteful, dark-colored dress or a party skirt set. Blue, black, red, dark green, or maroon can be appropriate choices. For formal events the dress should go down to about the knees or lower, and the neckline should not reveal too much. However, this is not the case for romantic dinners.
Jewelry for women may include nickel free silver, pearl, or gemstone jewelry. Some women prefer flashy jewelry, but this is more appropriate for a toned down dress than a sparkly one. For instance, if you are wearing a sequined dress you probably want to wear simple jewelry without a lot of sparkle.

i have a worcester metal ware cigarette case from london.on the front it has a lovely print of the english emblem it is old but not sure how old.does anyone know where i can find out more?
You could take it to an antique shop, they shouldhave the answer. I would think it would be worth something.
