How To Prepare Your Home For Get-togethers And Holiday Parties
Are you planning a big party over the holidays? Are you the host of many a weekend get-together or a Friday night party? If you are, there's a lot of ways you can make your home party central with just a few simple steps.
Keep your guests comfortable at each party by regulating the temperature of your house. You can even do it without having to break the bank besides. You don't have to rely on the main heater or the air conditioner for nonstop regulated conditions. When your guests are too warm, just bring out a portable air fan and aim it towards to fairly large part of your house to circulate any stale air.
Warm up the air inside your house with home space heaters in order to keep your company comfortable. There are many heaters available in diverse sizes that can be placed just about anywhere. Not only are they affordable, they're also portable, and you can always adjust the thermostat whenever necessary if you need less heat or more heat.
Always provide enough food for your friends at a party. Nothing encourages a good conversation like delicious food prepared in a convection oven or grilled outside on the grill. Finger foods like cookies, deviled eggs, hors d'oeuvres, fudge squares, or a dip and veggie tray will maintain happy guests while they're waiting for you to cook a full meal or during game play.
Entertaining your guests with non-alcoholic drinks is also a great way to keep your people happy while still being capable to drive safely home. Chilled or frozen drinks can be processed in a blender or in a food processor before being poured into a colorful glass or crystal. Serve these on a charger or tray for a pretty presentation.
Don't rely on food and drinks to keep your guests occupied the entire time, however. You need to provide another form of entertainment to keep them coming back to your house for other parties. When hosting a holiday festivity, consider hiring a pianist or a band to perform Christmas music. If you're hosting a party during summer or spring, set up a croquet or mini golf course, volleyball net, or football area for kids and teens. These activities will keep your guests occupied while you're entertaining.
You can be the life of any party simply by giving disposable cups, plates, silverware, and napkins with plenty of trash bins around for dumping. Guests aren't real fond of having to bring hard dishware back to the kitchen when it's full of people and dirty dishes; it'll be much easier on both your guests and yourself if you provide receptacles around your garage or house for dumping plates and other used items whenever your guests feel like it; this will leave precious little cleanup for you after the party is over.

I'm what you'd call a casual racing fan. I really enjoy racing games, but I
find it hard to devote my time to more than one or two every year, so I tend
toward known quantities - Forza, Burnout, Need for Speed, etc. As such, I've
always been intrigued by Codemasters' popular Dirt series of rally racing
games, but I have yet to take the leap into trying one out. The publisher
hopes to pull in people like myself with its new spin-off game, Dirt Showdown,
which I was able to go hands-on with last week.
According to Codemasters, the decision to create Dirt Showdown came from a
recognition that by the third Dirt game, the series had expanded from its pure
rally racing roots and into the realm of "action sports." Dirt 3 featured a
major addition to the series called gymkhana, an obstacle and trick course for
cars.
To help clarify the game's focus and calm fans who might be annoyed by the
dissonant modes, Codemasters decided to create a branching spin-off. In other
words, Dirt Showdown is not Dirt 4. This is a separate, action sports-focused
version of the Dirt series that ...
