Angel Men Pure Coffee by Thierry Mugler
Angel Men Pure Coffee starts off as the name implies. It’s like walking into Starbucks and smelling the caramel macchiato brewing. It begins with an overdose of roasted coffee beans then develops into a muted concoction of sweet delights. There are hints of milk chocolate, vanilla and sugared cocoa that mingle well into a perfect blend. The scent is disarming at first whiff then invariably dissipates to warm and comforting dry down of slightly gourmand notes.
Chandler Burr of Scent Notes (New York Times) defined it as effortlessly pleasing and jarringly direct. He said, “At first you frown, hesitate. Are you missing something? Is this a joke? You smell it and think reflexively about getting to work. It’s coffee. (Nagel and Huclier used, among other materials, a natural coffee absolute.) Give it a few seconds, and its ingeniousness starts unfolding from your skin; this tasse de café smells the way the hyper-real close-up photography of Robert Mapplethorpe looks: both absurdly, mockingly literal and overtly surreal in its hyper-literalness. It forces you to reconsider your routine 8:30am scent in a completely new light.”
This fragrance is eons away from the traditional masculine perfume. You’ll get a healthy dose of gourmand notes with emphasis on the aromatic air of freshly roasted coffee beans. resume, in fact, and he’s topped it off with his own label that focuses on

speak through the wine, without much meddling, and it shines through.
