to begin with, i am over 21 and i am a responsible adult so you dont need to worry about some underage child asking about this. My friend has a bar and owns a kegerator, so it is set up just like any normal pub with the keg down below and the faucet and handle coming up in the bar. for some reason that we cannot figure out the handle wont move anymore. it feels like it is almost locked in place? is there some locking mechanism that comes with it? or is it just the pressure in the keg. it will not move AT ALL. i know this is probably a stupid question but we are new to this and we cant seem to figure it out!!! thanks so much!(: -alice
It is probably just gummed up. if you turn off the CO2 and disconnect the tap from the keg you can disassemble the faucet and clean it out. There is a ring on the faucet that should have some raised 'grip' on it and a couple of holes in the middle of the ring. There is a special simple wrench that fits holes , giving you grip to easily unscrew it. If you can't find the wrench you can use pliers but be careful not to scuff up the ring. If you are facing the faucet it turns to the left.
once you have the faucet off you can unscrew the tap handle from the top of the faucet. look for the textures part right above the faucet and just unscrew it by hand.
Once this is all done you will take out a part that has a gasket on it that slides back and forth and is what allows the beer to flow. Clean the inside of the faucet and that part with the gasket and you should be good to go. Use a toothbrush or what ever you have that will fit in there. There is a special beer line cleaner you can use but you can just use dish detergent - just make sure you thoroughly rinse before reassembling.
